Meet Cassie A.

I am a forty-four-year-old wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, university student, and sober warrioress (with more than four years of 24-hours behind me).

I live with a host of mental health afflictions, with a primary diagnosis of Borderline Personality Disorder (“the other BPD”) with Complex-PTSD.

I have an incredible support system that is comprised of two very large families — my own, and my in-laws — that I deeply adore, and fiercely protect.

I am also a self-professed “media junkie”. I adore a damn good indie film that few others have seen, have great enthusiasm for television series that I resonate with (or find escape in watching), love books (but read less than I’d like to), and devour music of all kinds (with the exception of jazz and/or classical). These things have been an integral part of my life over the past twenty years; and I plan to share my connection to them through my “Eclectic Media Outlet” posts (see the site menu for a link).

My husband — Mitchell — and I have been together for more than twenty years — married for more than sixteen; and have definitely faced every marital challenge a couple can come up against. We have a grown, truly amazing, son (“Bug”); and a rescue coonhound pup named Tocho, who is an absolute delight (most of the time 😜).

We currently reside in the Sonoran Desert (Tucson, Arizona), where Mitch works as a large-telescope operations specialist; but I hope to someday return to the Midwest, where my heart has always resided… and to finally write that book I’ve been talking about for years.
